UPDATE!!

Hello everybody! Sorry that we haven't had a chance to update in a while, but better late than never. Since we left Italy we have gone to Croatia for a couple of weeks to stay with Dunja's family there. We also went to Bosnia for 4 days and visited Banja Luka, Sarajevo and Mostar. Bosnia was awesome and we ate some delicious cevapi and went rafting in Banja Luka. I (Andrew) also learned the Cyrillic alphabet. After Bosnia we went back to Croatia for a week and then we took a plane from the island to Stuttgart, Germany and then a train from there to Hof, where we were picked up by Dunja's friends from Schoenwald, the Raimers. We had a great time in Schoenwald and we were there for Wiesenfest, which was awesome. Tons of people and great music and great food. We went to a couple of museums in the area too. One was a porcelain/rosenthal museum (what schoenwald/selb is famous for) and one was a cold war museum. We stayed there for 1 week and then took the train Berlin, where we are right now. We are staying with Wilson Dunlavey, a high school friend from my sister, Emily.
We have added tons of pictures since the last post on the picassa website, so check it out!

Quick update..possibly the last post from Italia!

I can't believe that our time in Firenze is coming to an end. It feels like we just arrived here yesterday and now it's almost time to leave. We have gotten so used to being here and going back to the US in a month is going to be weird. This week we only have some things to finish up for school and enjoy the town while we can. Thursday is the last day of school and that night we have our farewell dinner at Ganzo, the restaurant that is part of the APICIUS culinary school. On Friday Andrew and I will just enjoy the day in Firenze before we leave for Croatia on Saturday.
I guess I will update everyone on what has happened since the last post. On Wednesday we went to this little city near Florence called Prato. It used to belong to Florence but eventually became it's own city. It was a really nice place with no tourists. Andrew, James and Luis bought little portable soccer goals and then we spent a few hours hanging out in a park while they played soccer with some Italian guys. We took the train back to Firenze and just went to our usual hang out spot by the Gelateria by the bridge across from Ponte Vencchio. On Friday James, Luis, Andrew and I took a trip to Venezia. When we got there the weather was bad so we ate first and then started to walk around the city. We went to the Piazza St. Marco and got attacked by a million pigeons. Later we took a ride in a Gondola which cost us a fortune but was worth every Euro. We got to see the whole city and it is incredibly beautiful. It was strange to see all the houses in the water and crossing millions of bridges just to get from one place to the next. We had some cappuccinos and then headed back to Firenze that night.
The next day we got up really early again and took a trip to Rome. At first we went to Vatican City and spent a few hours at the Vatican. It was enormous and very interesting to see. We saw the tombs of prior popes and went inside the church...which is ridiculously big. After that we went to the Vatican Museum and saw the Sistine Chapel. Later on we made a trip to the Hard Rock Cafe and enjoyed a very fatty American Meal....which sounded great at the time but we all regretted soon later. To work of the 1000000 calories from our meal we decided to walk to the Trevi Fountain where we took some pictures and hung out for a while. Later that day we went to see the Colosseum and then we took the train back to Firenze.
Sunday we spent in Florence just studying and eating Gelato...that's the story of our life in Italy...we just eat ice cream about three times a day. It never gets old..
I have new pictures up on my website picasaweb.com/dunjak from all of th trips so don't forget to look at all of them. Happy belated Father's Day! And Happy Birthday to my mom!!!!

What a weekend!

First of all...we're in love with Italy and don't want to leave. This weekend was a lot of fun and we got to visit some great places. First on Wednesday, we went with a group of people to Pisa to see the tower. That was fun but we were only there for a few hours.
On Friday we went on a field trip with school to San Gimignano where we visited some vineyards and got to do some wine tasting. It was a beautiful town and we definitely had a great time drinking wine and eating some delicious Italian food.
Yesterday we went with Luis and James to Cinque Terre which was one of the most amazing places I have ever seen. Everyone needs to go there when they get a chance. We went hiking there for five hours which was tiring yet amazing. We had dinner in the last of the five towns and then took a train back to Pisa where we were supposed to get on a train to Firenze. Unfortunately we didn't make it to the last train to Firenze because it was late so we ended up having to take a bus back to Firenze. We got here at 3:15 this morning and now have to do homework.
So it was a great weekend overall but now it's time for school again. Check out the pictures on my picasa website.
Hope to hear from you all soon. Feel free to comment on the pictures.

It was nice talking to some of you this week. Thanks for the phone calls and web chats.

Firenze

Hi everyone,
so we have finally had a chance to take some pictures here in Firenze. Today we went to Assisi where we visited a church and then had lunch in a convent with a bunch of nuns. It was very interesting. Tomorrow Andrew and I are going with some friends to Siena and hopefully that will be fun too. We have new pictures up, here are the links,

Milano

Last night we arrived in Milan after a long day of traveling...four countries in less than 16 hours. We are getting ready to take the train to Florence and meet up with everyone from UCF.
We spent our last day in Barcelona just walking around town, shopping and relaxing. It is a great place for anyone looking to go on vacation, I especially recommend staying at Hostal Orleans. That's where we stayed and it was the perfect location with the nicest people working there. You should all check it out...and it's very cheap compared to everything else.
We'll write again later when we arrive in Florence.
